What are some features that have added to the auditory level of the game? Keep reading to know more about the same.
Kris and Nils, sound engineers at Giants Software, tell us about the new sound settings that we can expect on November 22nd. According to the engineers, the main objective of the improved sound and feel of the game was to make it as realistic and dynamic as possible.
Improved sound settings for vehicle engine sounds
In the recent announcement about sound design improvements in Farming Simulator 22, Kris talks about using the new engine synthesis tool to bring out different vehicle engine sounds while traveling on different terrains. What this means to you, as a gamer, is that you can hear realistic sounds when you are moving up a hill, on flat terrain, on narrow roads, etc.
To make sounds more dynamic and realistic, the audio team and the programming team collaborated to create a new audio software tool. With this tool, the team analyzes the off-load and on-load sounds of the engines, and compares them with the actual tractor sounds they have recorded. They, then use the EQ tool to simulate the sounds so that even a normal engine sounds like one on a heavy load.
The key is to use the EQ levels in the right intensity to bring out realistic sounds. This level is decided based on the load of the vehicle that is being used in the Gameplay. Some of the other interesting features of sound improvement are the ones found inside the vehicle. Windscreen wiper sounds, C-suspension and different sounds for different manual gear settings are some of them.
Sound features of attachments
You will be thrilled with the new sound settings that have been introduced for the attachments in FS22. You can feel this when you are working with cultivators and trailers. In this version, you will hear ambitious and realistic sounds when you unload the trailer into silos for all stages. New sound features have been introduced for the rear lid opening of the vehicles, hydraulic piston movements, and when the metal surface locks itself in place. Apart from these, certain indoor sound improvements have also been made, so that you can feel the shaking and vibrating changes when you drive on uneven terrains.
