The latest version of Farming Simulator 22 is set to launch on November 22d with updated features to keep game lovers hooked. In the recent announcement from Giants Software, the developers of this game, you can learn more about the new Elmcreek map that the makers have introduced in FS22.
In the previous announcement from Giant Software, we got a few screenshots of the new Elmcreek map and learned that the American Midwest region had inspired it. What more can you expect from this new map? Keep reading to know the answer to this question.
Map in FS22 vs. Map in FS19
According to Florian Busse, Senior Level Designer at Giants Software, the features of the Elmcreek map is nothing like what you might have seen before. With its attention to detail and clear features, the new map is all about an interesting landscape that will keep game lovers hooked to their games.
You might already know about the Ravenport map, used in FS19. However, in FS22, the new map Elmcreek is used. You won’t find any coastline on the new map, but only a flat landscape with interesting features like a hidden canyon and cave. However, the highlight of the Elmcreek map is that its features are embedded into the landscape naturally.
Though Elmcreek’s features are flat, you will find certain elevations, railroad lines, underpasses, bridges over rivers, streams, railway lines, etc. You will find it interesting to drive through these lines and bridges, as you navigate the game.
In the earlier announcement from Giants Software, they gave us a glimpse of some of the landmarks of the Elmcreek map. You will find a baseball stadium, a gas station and other buildings. In this announcement, we also get to know that Elmcreek is a predominantly industrial area, with a few residential areas, business establishments and a bowling center as well. These features keep changing with the different seasonal cycles introduced in the season.
Reduced layout
In the new map version, the makers have decided to give you the ultimate flexibility to add or remove buildings from your farm. For this purpose, your farm is placed right in the center of the map, with all other players spread out to the sides. This gives you good customization options to decorate your farm the way you want. The developers have taken out of the decorative buildings in the farm to reduce the layout, so that they don’t pose an obstacle for you when you are constructing your farm.
Another change you will notice in the new map version is in the construction of barns and garages. They are constructed on multiple levels to save space. You can store your vehicles in the garage, while you can use the barns to store your grains and pallets. The garage doors are designed in such a way to let through small vehicles and forklifts.
Smaller and manageable fields
There are 81 predefined fields in the Elmcreek map that you can choose from. While these fields may seem to be small initially, it gives you the flexibility to merge and create your own fields, according to your convenience. With their different types of edges and sizes, these fields help you make smart & efficient farming techniques to maximize your farm's potential. This way, you can create your farms in such a way that they gel well with the nature of the landscapes.
Can you play on multiplayer mode?
Yes, you can explore your farm well and use it to play along with multiple players. All you have to do is to go to the edges of your fields to explore other farms. They may have the same landscape and layouts. You can merge your farms with other smaller farms nearby, and plan for an expansion. The new version gives you many opportunities to make the most of your farm by designing it the way you want. The best part of this new version is that you can build your farm in any design you want on the piece of field you own.
